Operator Environment

Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The particular design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main objective is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is really comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, in order to keep the operator functioning as effectively as she or he could.



Noise levels and vibration controls are kept low due to the insulated mounting on the chassis. To be able to maintain an optimal working position, the operator seat and hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and easy to operate levers that are offered for the window washers, horn, windscreen wipers and gear changing.



To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machine has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, defrosting and recirculation. As an extra option, air conditioning could be fitted.



Instrumentation

In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Standard instrumentation includes: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Moreover, gauges display values for fuel quantity, operating time, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.



Among the key options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be outfitted with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This enables for easy supervision of the unit. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors that happen and their current values.
