Reach Truck

To be able to keep storage places tidy and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck comes in quite a few types: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.



The stand-up is the most basic. The forks of the truck slide under the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.



The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods. This model has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.



Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not only slide underneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular version is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
