Inventor Jerome Case founded the company of CASE within Racine, when he began the building of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition globally as the first builder of steam engines for its agricultural application. In time, the company grew to become the world's biggest producers of steam engines.



Case had established themselves in the construction machinery industry by the year 1912. They became a manufacturer of road building machinery including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction equipment business through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in 1957. Case had expanded their business by the mid-1990s to become the leading manufacturer of medium-sized to light-sized construction machinery.



During the year 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for advertising some of the top brands of construction and agricultural machines in the world.
