Caterpillar Reach Stackers Portland

A reach stacker is a vehicle designed to handle the movement of containerized cargo in small and medium-sized ports and terminals. Reach stackers are ideal for quickly shuttling containers short distances and stacking them in rows.



Reach stackers are a common choice for handling intermodal cargo containers because of their flexibility. They are capable of stacking higher than forklift trucks. With a reach stacker capable of second row access, container blocks could be kept four-deep.



A different version of the stacker is made to handle empty containers only.



Types of Forklift Reach

Usually utilized on construction sites is a type of forklift called forklift reach. It is outfitted with a boom and very large tires which provide great stability on uneven terrain. The forklift reach is available in the following variations:



Suitable for racked pallet storage, a Stand-Up Reach has a narrow reach.



The Straddle Reach includes outriggers and hydraulic-like scissors attachments attached at the front.



The Double-Deep Reach is equipped with an extended reach device that allows the storage of pallets in double-deep racks.
