Carelift Zoom Boom Portland

Carelift Zoom Boom Portland

Rough terrain forklifts have been manufactured by CareLift Equipment, ever since the year 1962. Every day the company strives to deliver value and help all their customers reach their objectives because they know the bottom line is performance and reliability.

Boom lifts come in 2 general types, the articulated boom lift and straight boom lift. Both these units are usually hydraulically powered. Most commonly straight booms are the great choice for jobs that require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment is capable of rotating three hundred sixty degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Because the operator can steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile machinery. These models are available in diesel, propane or gas configurations as well as 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive.

The articulated boom lifts are utilized for tasks that need to reach up and over obstacles in order to gain access. These specialized lifts are used for tasks which are not easily completed by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are almost like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to easily move around any objects within the work site.

In order to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is completely extended, some heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Proper training is necessary prior to using boom lifts so as to guarantee the operator, the jobsite and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.

The boom lift allows for tasks requiring many man hours to be completed in much less time. These equipment have greatly increased production and have revolutionized the material handling industry.
