Narrow aisle forklifts
Usually used within warehouse applications is the Narrow Aisle Forklift. These forklifts are important machines in the business as their small size and extreme maneuverability enable warehouses to utilize space to maximum storing capacity. They can easily go around aisles that are 1.8 meters wide, whereas standard lift trucks need at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two kinds are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The former need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whereas the latter could function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The design of a narrow aisle forklift includes forks positioned at right angles to the body of the truck. The trucks do not have to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This particular design feature is the key to their suitability for limited spaces.
To make certain that the forklift is moving in a straight line down the aisle, some very narrow aisle forklifts comprise wire or optical systems. That way, the operator can concentrate more on the picking and the placement of loads.
The cushion tires that come with these types of lifts are made of solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on paved, smooth surfaces and concrete floors. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors that is best utilized within indoor places. Propane-powered models are available as well.
