Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run utilizing liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machinery needs to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. For instance: be certain to wear the appropriate safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
