Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are large industrial equipment designed with a straight boom arm which is extendable. The boom is normally situated on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are typically utilized for jobs that require tasks to be performed at heights which exceed other kinds of lifts. For example, employees can perform exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but using these lifts rather than having the additional work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one individual. These buckets are more suitable to specific jobs like for example electrical repair, rather than window washing or general maintenance. These lifts come in gas or electric configurations and are available with both indoor and outdoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Below the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machine gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. As these types of equipment should be directly positioned under the work location, as opposed to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.
Scissor lifts do, however, provide larger platforms that allow the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface when the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a concern with these kinds of equipment, as they should sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are ideal for being used for window installation or cladding, as they provide the personnel with the desired mobility; they are also a good choice for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle used specially for vertical work. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and controls the machine. There is a bucket for where the worker can stand along with a winch for lifting and an actuator arm for lifting the boom.
Cherry pickers can lift employees up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to raise both heavy materials and equipment for one place to another. There are a variety of different crane types which could carry out various purposes. Both of these different types of machinery excel at different jobs and are great for particular applications and completing particular jobs.
