Narrow Aisle Forklifts
Several forklifts are particularly made to fit down very narrow aisles inside a warehouse. These units are referred to as narrow aisle lift trucks. They can easily negotiate smaller aisles and enable you to enjoy several advantages. For example, the increased amount of space to keep stuff could significantly increase the overall available stock of a business.
Narrow aisle forklifts can maneuver easily also. These machinery have been specially designed to move without a lot of space. Their different design has eliminated many of the items which are squished up into the design of the traditional lift truck's main body.
The downside of narrow aisle forklifts is that they are very slow compared to regular forklifts. Narrow aisle forklifts would not work if you need to move objects across large distances. In terms of speed they will not be a dependable alternative. If you also have a standard forklift, this would not be a problem. You can just use the narrow aisle forklift to transport the load to a central place and afterward hand it off to a regular lift truck which could travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient method. Usually, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they would not be very useful.
Electric Lift Trucks
For indoor applications such as stores or inside warehouses, traditional gas lift trucks are not a suitable alternative. They would not be as safe because of their fumes, or as useful or cost-efficient compared to an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are often designed to look and work a lot like gas ones, but they rely on electric batteries that should be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
Electric forklifts are common for a range of reasons. For starters, they would save you lots of money on fuel expenses. At first, electric units might cost more but eventually, they make up for this in the long run. Like for instance, when gas prices increase, you will not be affected and would save a lot of cash. Electric models tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered units also. This is partly because of the fact they are mostly used inside and hence don't get as dirty or work in as harsh settings as the gas powered ones. Electric models are healthier to utilize in badly ventilated places such as warehouses and indoor applications as they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be very dangerous to use diesel or gas forklifts inside.
The electric lift truck does have some downsides like the fact that they can really only work for roughly 8 hours. Then the equipment will need to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. Many companies get around this condition by purchasing an extra battery so they can continually cycle them and have less downtime. There are fast charge batteries available on the market which are also minimizing the charging time.
